Growing Up

Met up with a group of hall mates at Manhatten Fish Market yesterday. Seems like we are highly afflitated to seafood (no!! .. fish are friends ..) The last time we met up was also over dinner eating seafood (yes .. fish are food too .. so by induction, friends are food or food is friend? haha)

Been 6 years since we left hall. Cliche but it's true: Time flies. And everyone still looks the same, speaks the same manner ..etc. We spoke of yester years memories that sparked like last week's. But how things are different now. We have married ones, those getting married, attached, unattached, just graduated and so on.

The evening stretched past midnight. We adjourned to the popular after dinner activity: karoke. Someone emphasized on the word "karoke" instead of "ktv" hee.

Was totally impressed with a seemingly "eat potato" friend actually pretty with his knowledge of the latest Mandarin pop songs and he got no problem with the "fan ti zi" lyrics at all. Can you believe it, I needed someone to read out the lyrics for me by the side so that I could do my gig. My chinese did got a decent grade ok, but well, oral wise, barely made it :p

Met up with more friends today in church. Friends who stopped by SG for a week or 2 who flying back to US on Tues. We will see them back in a year's time. Ya, that's about the length of time they were away. Again, time flies. We should be dearing wedding bells in 2 years time for this couple? hee :)

More friends that we hardly saw, came for service today too. And they brought along their partners. Hee church service is an invitation for all to come, partners included. It's nice to see that we filled the whole row of the section in Expo hall 10. Yeah, but we all know that we don't hang out as one big group these days. Part of growing up. Differing priorities. But thank God we are still one Body in Him. Amen :)
