Haha Majestic refers to Majestic Salute Hotel, Hanoi. We’ve just downgraded from that 3 star hotel to this Lucky Star Hotel (2 star).
And this morning, I requested to change room cos my room was just too noisy!! Rudely awakened by the honking traffic at 8.30am this morning. Hee 8.30am is considered early for this gal who been sleeping late during the week to do some numbers crunching business for the Vietnam project .. and hey it’s weekend for crying out loud!
So pleased with my new room now. Quiet side of the hotel. No busy road on this side. Only private housing …. Peaceful :)

The huge room (supposed meant for 2) lit by a huge bouquet of red roses (somebody sent them to me). Orangey light. This 2 star hotel not too bad after all! In fact since yesterday till now, I’m very impressed by their customer service. And the staff (receptionists & bellboys) can speak English!!! (this is extremely important k) They had very patiently given me a preview of my new room, had helped me shift all my luggage to this room while i was out, helped me solved a problem of the “clogged” basin .. etc.
Just now i was using the Internet at the lobby (yes the main minus point is that there is no Internet in the rooms; and i’m now typing my to-be blog entry on MS-Word), i was just fidgeting with the hub to see if i could plug my laptop there and the IT technical almost immediately rushed to my assistance. ( Erm initially he thought that i’m a Vietnamese. He’s the 101th person that thought so. Oh well.) Shortly after a group of 3 men were discussing on how to plug in their long cable so that i could use my laptop from the hotel cafeteria nearby. And hey when i was making my way up, a guy was using some kind of bluetack to fix the cable neatly to the side against the wall … wow! I mean i was just enquiring if i could plug in my laptop, i didn’t say i wanna use it now right? These guys are really very kind :)
Yup about Majestic, i’m missing surfing Net on my hotel bed, some light catching up on msn, the nice dressing table with a big mirror, the cosy comforter … so many things. Anyway, in 4 days i’ll be back in Singapore. So fast. Hee.
And about trekking in Vietnam. Couldn’t get a third person in join in my initial 3D2N tour idea to Cat Ba Island. Decided that i can go on a 1 day tour to the National Park with my Vietnamese colleague on the day before our scheduled flight back to Singapore. Meaning that i could returrn to Singapore on 31 Aug as planned. And i can make it for vocal duty on the coming Saturday service :) Finally all settled. Was still thinking about this last night. Not 100% sure that the National Park trip will materialise … highly subject to weather and other “extraneous” factors.
Ok the time now is 9.17pm Hanoi time. Quite early but moi not bathed yet. And my head is on the verge of splitting apart. Headache. All the team members falling sick at the same time. Perhaps we worked too hard the last few days haha. Perhaps due to the weather changes also. Still coughing away. This is from the 3-weeks-ago cold package. Hee it actually got a bit better when after 9 Aug, gal’s ice-cream craze got the better of me and wracked ice-cream on 3 consecutive days in HCMC. (i was fasting from snacks and ice-cream for the 40-day fast). Hee ice-cream never tasted better. :)
Bath time!
