Just back from Ha Long - but not the bay.
A gang of 2 gals 2 guys planned to spend the weekend at Ha Long Bay. Disappointed that we couldn't visit the reknown bay. Oh well, I'm thankful that we made it back to the hotel.
There was this storm that broke out over the Ha Long bay. It's like a typhoon. The electicity at our inn was cut. The stability of the building itself seemed suspicious. Was only able to see the damage caused by the storm this morning when the van made its way back to Hanoi. The beach that we visited yesterday had been covered by the sea water. Incoming waves threatened to spill ashore. Coconut trees were beheaded. Strong howling winds...
