The Testament

Just finished reading the above title by John Grisham. I kinda lost my liking for reading fiction books like since secondary school days. Textbooks and "compulsory literature readings" seemed to reap better educational returns :P

Yup much of the reading was accomplished in my bro's car over the weekend. Lotsa time during the car ride to immerse myself into the life of Nate O'Rilery - a pathetic drunk lawyer turned christian filled with faith in the Lord and hope in the future. What a transformation! All in the timing of God who brought into his life a missionary who's fearless of everything - even death.

A brief illustration was beautifully written about how he confessed his sins to God in a chapel and asked the Lord to help him, about how he felt his burdens lifted off his shoulders, about how he felt he heard the voice of God calling him to surrender his life at the altar. His internal struggles about the different voices that he heard in his mind. He's not sure whether it's God calling him. He heard his own weakness screamed at him saying he's not ready. Just a friction. But all so real. So familiar.

Gonna embark on a fresh book about tasting and seeing God by Tim Dearborn. Nice last name huh. Anyway, I stumbled upon this book when returning "The Testament" to my bro's book shelf. Felt drawn to read this one. May the Lord reveal Himself to me.
