Dashing though the streets

*yawn*
What time is it?
Huh only 2pm!!!
Whatever ...
*hungry*
Arise and shine (",)

After a mere 3 hours of sleep to compensate the loss of it the night before, I was feeling quite beefed up with myself. Then Stomach said,"Hungry." Alright you win, let's see what's cooking. Scrambled egg sandwich? Not bad ... yeah... Lynn COOKS! haha home alone with parents in Thailand, big bro in Australia, sis not home and small bro hanging out somewhere, this is what you get ("p)

Ok ok, enough of keeping you guys in the suspense ..So what did we do last nite? CYCLING!!!

Finally! The Nite has come! Say 2 months ago when the idea was illuminated in my head, I was SO excited! Yes! Let's do it again! Idea was to get a few hardcore cyclists to explore alternative cycling routes. 1st person I approached: Uncle Jimmy (",) Naturally, he was equally enthusiastic - or even MORE.

So we set a date, things cropped up so postponed to the next earliest possible date. Jio-ed my friends, colleagues (also my friends) and my younger bro. And they jio-ed theirs. Yup in the end the turnout was TREMENDOUS! It's a mini-friendster in the making! We got a group of about 20+ people from different walks of life, all coming together for a common crest, and making new friends in the midst of it. Haha we even got 2 bikers whom we met at the bike shop joining us for the ride! I first noticed them as we were waiting for the back trail of folks to keep up:

"Eh? Nice headlights you guys got there .. wait a minute you guys are .. "
(I din remember seeing them as our folks when we introduced everyone to everyone else)
"Unfamiliar faces? Oh we were looking for a group to go cycling. Saw you guys at the bike shop so decided to just join it."
"Ahh .."
(And conversations followed)

From East Coast Park to Changi Village, the group then got our wheels to Bedok Reservoir followed by Orchard and back. Looks short? Think again. Try it ("p) Getting the relatively big group of biking fanatics to cycle in 1 continuous stream was quite a feat. *bleh* Ok lah, our cell group organised a 60+ persons nite cycling last year. *Dun pray pray*

There were also some HEROS in the midst of us:
* Josh - accompanied a damsel in distress back to the bike shop and also waited with her to catch a cab home. AND He raced to find us in Tampines while getting along another friend to join us as well.
* Ben and friend - undertook the role of the last men, sacrificing the thrills of speed as in Fast and Furious.
* Jimm - Got the route mapped out, coordinated with the bike shop boss - and clinching a whopping good deal of $8 per bike + backlights + mineral water - cycled up and down the trail of cyclists to ensure that all's fine ... really, he is THE man!

Overall, we have enjoyed ourselves throughout the night. Cycling in the rain. Feasting at various checkpoints (My bro's remark was,"Huh eat again?). Making new friends. Knowing friends better. Caught up with buddies. Hurting our butts. Fixing a broken chain. Beating the lights. The best is this: Dashing through the streets (hence the title of this entry) * satisfied smile * I'm very thankful to God for the many ppl who turned up - and who made it thru' in the end - and for the friendships fostered. Every life, uniquely designed, is precious in God's sight. May the Lord continue to help us keep this endeavour going. (",)
