Romance in a pragmatic world

Who says romance and pragmatism can't coexist?

Really, it's more than the gifts itself. It is the motivation behind the gifts that melt the heart. Gifts carefully chosen, plans deliberately made, all out to win her heart.

A favourite flower, albeit familiar, costed many folds more. A Sasha bear made novel, having been given a tender name along with a priceless tag that spells priority. A tasteful brownian bought with her in mind. It's flavour, her favourite nonetheless. All these, came bundled in a airflown bag, all the way from a faraway wonderland.

An overly-commericalised affair made magical. A loving gesture ordinated the day unique. One thing he asked, this was what he seeked, that he would bring a sparkle to her eyes, a smile to her lips and a loving warmth to her heart.

Hear the sound of a champagne pop. See the display of fireworks in the skies above. The Lord's timing cannot be more perfect. A magical moment left both lost for words. Except for those eyes that divulged the lover's hearts.

Come behind the scenes and see. Tight deadlines and hectic schedules. Work demands and responsibility calls. Too many tasks. So little time. Visit the modest lifestyles of two simple saints. Extravagance, really, is but a term. That's life in a pragmatic world.

A magical moment. Now a memory. It was time well-spent, time deeply cherished. Looking ahead, the future no one (but God) knows. May the Lord preserves the two, and fulfills His plans for them.

"I will sing to the Lord for he is highly exalted. The Lord is my strength and my song. He is my God and I will praise Him. " (Exodus 15:1-2)

"How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you." (Psalms 31:19a)
