He Chose the Nails

Picture this:

Gal cldn't sleep. Decided that God may want to speak to her. Got up and picked up the book she just bought that day - "He Chose the Nails", by Max Lucado.

Perhaps it's the finery of the author's pen. Or is it the apt Hillsongs' pieces playing in the background. Somehow, I just felt the overwhelming love of God. It's so consuming, so piercing. Then the tap spolit. You know it. I reached for a tissue or two. Not enough. Need more. Aiya bring the whole box lah.

So thankful for the Lord's love for me - and for all men and women. Jesus chose the Cross, bearing our shame, guilt, fear, discouragement, pain, darkness. Sin. More than just the Cross, He endured the soldiers' spit, crown of thorns, tools of torture, and momentary separation from the Father.

Why?

He loves us so much. He did it just for us. All He longs for is that we acknowledge Him as our Heavenly Father.

He says:

"I loved you enough to become one of you."
"I forgive you."
"I will let you choose."
"I will not abandon you."
"I invite you into My Presence."
"I will love you forever."

Would you come?

************************

Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.

So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven.

God's secret plan has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to his good pleasure. And this is his plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ--everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago.

~ Ephesians 1:4-7, 9-11 NLT
